FAQ

Answers to the questions we're asked most.

What is Queer the Shelves Infinite?

An ebook subscription for LGBTQIA+ books. One monthly subscription lets you read every book in the catalogue, in your browser or in our app.

How much does it cost?

£9 a month in the UK, US$13 in the US, CA$16 in Canada, A$18 in Australia and €11 in the eurozone. The shop shows the price in your currency.

Can I cancel?

Yes, at any time, from your account page. You keep reading until the end of the month you've paid for, and you won't be charged again.

Can I buy a book instead of subscribing?

Many books can also be bought outright. A book you buy is yours to keep: you can download it to read in any ebook app, subscription or not.

Can I read offline?

Yes. Install the app (look for “Get the app” on the home page), download books to your shelf, and read them without a connection. Downloaded books stay readable offline for 30 days at a time; reconnect to renew.

How are authors paid?

Authors earn for every page their readers read. Each page earns once per reader each month, so re-reading a favourite later counts again. Books can also be sold outright, with 80% of the net price going to the author.

How do I publish my book here?

Choose “Publish” when you sign up, or press “Become an author” on your account page. Upload your epub, preview it, check the possible typos we spot (British and American spellings are both fine), then submit it. We review every book before it goes live.

Can I change my book after it's published?

Yes. Upload a new version or change the details from your book's page and submit the changes; readers see them once we've reviewed them. A published book's title can't be changed.

Can I review books?

Subscribers can rate and review a book once they've read at least 10% of it.

How do I keep my account secure?

Turn on two-factor sign-in from your account page, using an authenticator app or codes sent by email.
